About the symposium

Thank you for your interest in the 5^th Early Career Researcher Symposium (ECRS2026) of the International Fossil Coral and Reef Society! ECRS2026 will be held on Zoom on 19th November 2026 with talks starting at 10:00 EST (15:00 UTC).

The symposium is a one-day online, free-to-attend event, with the aim of filling the gap between the four-year cycle of our main symposium (every four years). The event is open to researchers of all career stages, with talks delivered exclusively by invited Early Career Researchers (students and postdoctoral researchers).

As part of the symposium, we will have ‘Meet the Lab’ presentations, in which PIs from different labs from all around the world will talk about their research themes and any opportunities available—a perfect opportunity to network with fellow researchers and encourage future collaborations.

ECRS2026 will also feature Coffee Breakout Chats, during which attendees will be encouraged to meet and network in themed discussion groups. You can submit an idea for a themed breakout chat when you register for the meeting.

We look forward to providing a meeting programme with an abstract booklet and formalised schedule in late October.
